Home Modifications

Home modifications are simple changes made to adapt living spaces to meet the needs of individuals so that they can continue to live comfortably and independently. They can make everyday life easier, happier, and safer and range from replacing cabinet doorknobs with pull handles to installing wheelchair ramps, chair lifts, and shower grab bars or widening doorways.

To determine whether home modifications are appropriate, take a walk around the home. Go room by room. If anything seems unsafe or inappropriate, call us at 267-298-1325. One of our professional Occupational Therapists will visit the home to evaluate your need and make appropriate suggestions and coordinate services with our many trusted and reliable contractors.

To learn more about Home Modifications and to schedule an in-home consultation with one of our Occupational Therapists, please call 267-298-1325.

Veterans Benefit

If the disability was caused during or is related to military service to our country, the Veterans Pension Benefit might also be available to the individual and his or her spouse. This benefit is not connected to a service related industry and can be of great financial assistance to individuals with disabilities by helping them pay for long term care needs, especially as out-of-pocket health care costs continue to rise.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this benefit the individual must not have been dishonorably discharged, served 90 days on active duty with at least one day during a war, and be disabled or 65 years of age or older. There are also income and asset requirements that must be evaluated on an individual basis.

The Veterans Pension Benefit can help pay for:
  • Home Health Aides
  • Doctor co-pays
  • Eyeglasses and hearing aides
  • Assisted living fees
  • Prescriptions
  • Dental expenses
  • Insurance premiums

For additional information and free assistance with the application process, please call 267-298-1325 or email .
